This model represents a Volkswagen 1500 Type 3 'Notchback' sedan in Dark Blue. The original car was produced between 1961 and 1973 in 3 forms, the Notchback, the Fastback and the Estate. The model has no opening parts. The model has clear plastic lenses set into the casting at the front to represent the headlights. Separate red lenses are inset in the rear of the casting to represent the rear lights. Chromed plastic front and rear bumpers complete the exterior detailing.
The interior is cream plastic with a cream left hand drive plastic steering wheel. The glazing is clear and the front windscreen carries cast representations for the windscreen wipers and interior rear view mirror. The side front glazing is marked to indicate front quarter-light windows.
All wheels have solid, one piece dark blue hubs with simulated chrome hub-caps and separate black "rubber" tyres.
The base plate is black plastic and is marked with "Vitesse" followed by "1/43" on the line below at the centre top and "VW 1500" followed on a separate line by "Fabrique au Portugal" at the centre bottom. It is held in place with two self tapping screws.
