This model is the Vanguards VA08704 Vauxhall Viva in white with dark blue panels as the Ayr Burgh Police Beat Car.
This limited edition model has limited detailing and no opening parts. At the front there is a chromed grill and bumper below which is the number plate [KAG 276F]. The front lights are represented by clear crystal lenses and the indicator lights are painted orange rectangles below the bumper. In the middle of the grill is a tampo printed Viva emblem. Both the bonnet and boot lid are dark Blue. Two chromed side mirrors are mounted on the front wings which also carry the "Viva" badge on the sides and two tiny photo-etched wipers grace the front windscreen. The dark blue front doors carry the word "POLICE" in white lettering. The obligatory blue light is mounted on a roof sign box that also carries "POLICE" in white on blue background on both front and rear. Door handles and petrol cap are picked out in tampo printed silver and at the rear the rear lights are represented by red and orange painted spots.
The interior is black plastic with a right hand drive black plastic steering wheel and interior rear view mirror. The glazing is clear all round.
All wheels have chrome hubs - solid, one piece hub with separate black "rubber" tyres.
The base plate is black painted metal and is marked with "Vanguards" in the centre top and "1966-70 Vauxhall Viva" on the second line, "LLEDO" on the third line and "Used under License" at the centre bottom. The base plate casting also has a representation of the engine block, gearbox, front and rear suspension system, drive shaft and exhaust system. It is probably held in place with two press fit body locating lugs as there is no evidence of either rivets or screws.
This model was issued circa 2005 and is one of 4900 issued worldwide.
