Tootsietoy Ford F6 Oil Truck (1949)

This is the Tootsietoy Ford F6 (1949) Oil Truck in red. It is the 4 inch version.

It is a one piece casting with all detail such as bumpers, lights, body lines and trim, number plates, etc. cast into the metal. At the front is the representation of the grille, bumper, and headlights, picked out in silver. The bonnet has cast louvres. Above the cab, on the roof, are three running lights. The sides have cast doors and handles, rear hatches, and wheel arch covers. This version has FIVE caps cast on the top of the rear tank. The rear has two running lights toward the top of the tank, two cast doors, and the rear bumper is in the body colour. There is no glazing or base to the model.

On the under-side the model carries the legend "Tootsietoy, Made in, U.S.A." cast under the tank area on three lines. The flat head axles pass through the body casting and wheels and are peened on both sides of this model. The wheels are solid black rubber and are held apart by a metal sleeve.
