This model is the Matchbox Yesteryear Y22-1-G-4 Ford Model A Van (1930) in Ford livery. Produced as a limited edition model, the model carries "The New Ford Enclosed Light Van" decals. This model comes packed in its original maroon coloured box which has a label identifying this as "Ford News", Christmas '88, Special Limited Edition model, No. 1199" and declaring "Promotional Model using Matchbox components, Advertising panel not by Matchbox". This Code 3 Promotional model was issued in 1988 as a limited edition of an unknown quantity by an un-attributed Code 3 Supplier*. The model is not accompanied by a certificate identifying it, but has a white label label with black lettering on the box end flap reading "Ford News", Christmas '88, Special Limited Edition model, No. 1199" and further declaring "Promotional Model using Matchbox components, Advertising panel not by Matchbox". It has a stated scale of 1:40.
* Supplier now thought to be G. Ford Models and limited issue thought to be at least 1500 models (I have seen item 1273).
