This model is the Mak's (HK) #2000 Commer Fire Engine in red. This is a plastic copy of the Dinky 955-G.
The model features a red plastic cab and body with a separate grey plastic ladder and bells. At the front the grille, bumper, and headlights are picked out in silver. All other features are cast into the body casting — cab doors and handles, side hatches, roof ladder restraint, rear gauges, hoses (yellow) and pump mechanism. The separate roof ladder (with its extension) is fitted to a swiveling, grey plastic mounting at the rear of the body.
The model has no interior or glazing.
All wheels consist of red plastic hubs, each with black rubber tyre, pressure-fitted to steel axles. The rear axle passes through the friction drive motor.
The base plate is black plastic with Mak's (inside an oval) to the centre front, just behind the front axle.. This is followed by "No. 2000", and "Made in Hong Kong" in tiny text on the final line. The base is fixed through the use of a solvent glue and incorporates a rear tow hook, as well as the friction drive cover.
This model was probably issued in the 1960s.
