This model is the Jouef Peugeot 204 in red plastic. Other, hand-painted, colours are also shown.
The model has a one-piece plastic body, 50mm in length. It has been molded with all body detail cast in, having representations of the grille, lights, and doors cast at the front, sun roof to the top, and boot to the rear.
There is no interior of glazing.
The original wheels are red plastic and attached to steel axles. They are held to the body by means of the base plate.
The base plate has no manufacturer's mark but does have the country of origin "Made in France" marked just below the model identifier "403" (denoting this is a Peugeot 403), to the centre top. To the centre bottom are two indications of scale "HO". The base is held in place by either glue or a tight pressure fit.
I do not know exactly when this item was issued but it would have been in 1960s.
