This model is the Hachette Renault 4cv (1956) in the Red and Black livery of the Monaco Police. The casting is an Eligor (Italy) casting. It came with a booklet (in French) about the 4cv and was issued in a clear plastic display package, mounted on a black plastic display base and shrink wrapped with the booklet.
There are no opening parts on this model. All features are either cast into the metal or comprise of photo-etched parts which are attached during the finishing of the model. The model has separate windscreen wipers, interior rear view mirror, siren, spotlight, roof light, number-plates and bumpers.
The interior is black plastic and it has a black plastic, left hand drive steering wheel. The glazing is clear plastic.
All wheels appear to be one piece, plastic hubs in the fashion of the 5 spoke wheel of the era with separate black "rubber" tyres.
The base plate is black plastic with "ELIGOR" at the top centre and "Renault" (with a 4 inside a diamond) at the centre bottom. It also caries a rudimentary representation of the suspension and exhaust system. It is held in place by 2 small self-tapping screws.
The scale is said to be 1/43.
Issue date is circa 2008.
