This is the Goodee Ford 4 Door Sedan - Police issued in the mid 1950s in metallic blue and silver. This is the 6 inch casting.
This version of the model is a one piece, crude casting with simplistic detail such as bumpers, lights, body lines and trim, number plates, dome light and sirens etc. cast into the metal. At the front the lights, grille, and bumper are highlighted in silver. To the rear the tail lights, bu mper and number plate are also picked out in silver. Across the bonnet is a mask sprayed "Chief" in the same silver colour as the roof.
There is no glazing or base to the model. On the under-side the model carries the legend "Made in U.S.A" cast on one line under the boot, the "Goodee" trademark(?) under the bonnet, "Excel, Products" on two lines under the front of the roof, and "New Brunswick N.J.", on a single line, under the rear of the roof. The flat end axles pass through the black, solid rubber wheels and are pinch-clamped to mounts on the body casting.
I do not when this model was issued but think it was in the 1950s when they were producing the 3 inch models.
