Dinky 923-G-1 Bedford S Van "Heinz"

This model is the Dinky 923-G-1 Bedford S Van in Red and Yellow "Heinz" livery.

The model features a red cast metal cab and chassis with a separate yellow metal rear body with opening doors and black tin base. The grill and headlights are painted silver and there is no glazing in the windows. The rear body is yellow with a turquoise and red "Heinz 57 Varieties" logo with bean can.

All wheels are grey rubber with yellow "Supertoy" hubs. There is a spare wheel on the chassis.

The chassis casting acts as the baseplate and it is red painted metal with Dinky Supertoys on the right hand side followed by "Big Bedford". Underneath is "Made in England" followed by "Meccano Ltd". It is fixed to the rear "box" via a body locating lug that juts into the cab casting and two long tin tabs that line up with the axles and through which the axles pass thus locking the rear in place. Two machined rivets are used to fix the cab's tinplate plain base.

This model was issued between 1955 and 1959.
