This model is the Dinky 917-G-1 Guy Otter Van in Red and Cream "Spratts" livery.
The model features a red cast metal cab and chassis with a separate cream tin rear body with opening doors and black tin base. The grill and headlights are picked out in silver paint and there is no glazing in the windows. The rear body is cream with the Spratts logo (a stylised Scottish Terrier composed of the word Spratts) and one thin and one thick red stripe at the bottom of each side separated by a cream stripe with the words "Spratt's Bonio. Ovals & Dog Cakes".
All wheels are black rubber with red "Supertoy" hubs. There is a spare wheel on the chassis.
The baseplate is actually the chassis casting and it is red painted metal with Dinky Supertoys in the middle followed by "GUY". Underneath in a separate panel is "Made in England" on line one followed by "Meccano Ltd" on line two. It is fixed through the use of machined rivets.
This model was issued between 1955 and 1956.
