This model is the Dinky 501-H-1 Citroen DS19 Police Car in black and white.
The only opening parts on this model are the bonnet, which reveals a metallic green cast metal motor and spare wheel, and the boot, which reveals an empty luggage compartment. All other detail is cast into the body casting such as the doors, handles, badges, and front and rear bumpers. The car is adorned at the front with a silver painted bumper (no number plate) and the jeweled lenses on the front lights are yellow plastic. At the rear it has silver painted bumper, red tail lights, and yellow number plate. The sides and boot lid have faded creamy coloured "Police" decals. A brown (amber?) roof light with chromed surround sits on the roof above the front windscreen.
The interior is grey plastic with a black left hand drive steering wheel set into the dashboard, and the glazing is clear with molded windscreen wipers to the front.
All wheels appear to be one piece, solid, cast hubs with a separate black rubber tyre on steel domed axles. The model has working suspension.
The base plate appears to be black painted, cast metal and carries the legend "Meccano" at the top front centre, "Dinky Toys, Citroen DS19" on two lines in the middle centre, and "France" at the bottom front centre. Forward of the front axle is the scale "1/43" to the passenger side of the rivet and "64" to the driver's side of the rivet. To the rear of the rear axle is the model reference "530" (correct according to the books, but incorrect as this model was issued as number 501). The base also carries rudimentary representations of the exhaust and lower engine components. It is held in place by two machined rivets, front and rear.
This model was issued between 1967 and 1970.
