I have identified this model as the Dinky 263-H-1b ERF Airport Fire Rescue Tender in bright yellow. It uses a modified 266-H ERF Fire Tender body casting.

The model features a cast metal body with white plastic roof ladder. The front bumper, grill and headlights are cast into the body and picked out in mask sprayed silver paint. On each side of the cab is a small paper label with a blue and red crest on a yellow background, fitted to the rear crew cab doors. The rear body has an opening through which can be seen a white plastic hose reel (that is actually part of the baseplate) and several cast door hatches. On the top two hatches are paper labels in fluorescent red with white lettering that read "AIRPORT" and "RESCUE". At the rear of the side is another silver, mask sprayed area that represents the hose fittings. Finally on the rear of the body is yet another silver, mask sprayed area that represents the water pump.

At the top front of the cab is another fluorescent red "RESCUE" label. Either side of this on the cab roof are two unpainted metal "diamond plate" sections on which are mounted the blue tinted, clear plastic emergency lights and one unpainted metal, siren/bell fitting. Behind these, on the top of the rear body are two unpainted metal "hose reels" and just behind the left hand side one is an unpainted metal "spotlight".

The interior is white plastic. It comprises a white plastic steering wheel and dashboard, two front seats and a rear bench seat in the crew area of the cab. The cab is also fitted with clear glazing on which two moulded windscreen wipers are cast.

All wheels are of a shaped type - solid, one piece, cream plastic hubs with a heavy commercial 8 stud centre with a separate black "rubber" tyre imprinted with the words "HEAVY DUTY" on the front and a dual commercial style hub, also with 8 stud centre and the "HEAVY DUTY" tyres on the rear.

The baseplate is white plastic with Dinky Toys at the top centre (between the axles), and "ERF Fire Tender" and "Made in England" on two lines at the centre bottom. The baseplate also carries minimalist detailing in the form of a front, transverse exhaust and silencer (muffler) under the cab area, and drive shaft and rear differential housing and axle. It is fitted through the use of a front body locating lug and a self tapping screw at the rear.

The model comes in a standard blue, red and white box of the era. The box top "hanger" is imprinted with the usual "Dinky Die Cast Toys" text as is the top and three sides. The box rear carries a coloured "Rescue Services" drawing of two regular fire engines and a Ford Transit Ambulance attending a multi-story apartment block fire.

This model was issued between 1978 and 1980.
