This model is the Dinky 253-G-2 Daimler Ambulance in white.
The model features no opening parts, all features are cast into the body casting. At the front the headlights, grille and bumper are picked out in silver. The sides show cast doors, windows and side trim, with a cast cross (painted red) between the rear window shapes (not open). The rear has cast doors and handles and the rear windows are also filled in.
There is no interior or glazing on this model. The front and rear wheel arches, and running boards are details molded into the body of the model.
All wheels are of the shaped cast metal type - solid one piece cast metal hubs, painted red, each with a separate black "rubber" tyre, fitted to steel domed axles.
The base plate of this model is plated or lacquered tin. It carries the legend Dinky Toys at the centre top, "Daimler" to the centre middle, and "Made in England, Meccano Ltd." on two lines at the centre bottom. It also carries the model reference number "253" parallel to the front axle. The base is held in place by two machined rivets.
This item was issued between 1960 and 1962, evidenced by the reference number on the base.
