Dinky 164-G Vauxhall Cresta

This model is the Dinky 164-G-2 Vauxhall Cresta in the colour scheme of light grey over dark green with light grey hubs.

The model features no opening parts, all features are cast into the body casting. At the front the headlights, centre grille, and bumper are picked out in silver. The bonnet has a cast, centred Vauxhall badge/handle and silver trim on either side. The sides show cast body lines and doors with handles. The rear has tail lights in red, a silver painted bumper, and cast boot lid with a cast number plate, number plate light, and handle in the light grey body colour.

There is no interior or glazing on this model.

All wheels are of the shaped cast metal type - solid one piece cast metal hubs, painted light grey, with a separate black "rubber" tyre on a steel domed axle.

The base plate of this model is lacquered or painted metal, held in place by two machined rivets, one at the front and one at the rear. It carries the legend Dinky Toys at the centre top, "Vauxhall, Cresta" on two lines below this, and "Made in England, Meccano Ltd" on two lines at the bottom centre. The toy reference number is positioned forward of, and parallel to, the front axle and reads "164".
