This model is the Dinky 157-H-1 BMW 2000 Tilux with Metallic Blue lower body and Off-White upper body.
The model features no opening parts. At the front the grille, headlights, and front bumper with numberplate [K.HK 454] are highlighted in silver. Above the headlights are two small amber plastic inserts, representing the indicators, which should light up when the battery is present. On the top front of the bonnet is a small BMW badge. Each side has cast body lines, doors, and door handles. To the rear is another silver painted bumper, above which are two red painted tail lights, and another two amber plastic inserts. Between the rear lights is another number plate [K.HK 434].
The interior is red plastic with a white left hand drive steering wheel. The model has glazing on all windows, and the windscreen had been molded to show windscreen wipers and the rear vision mirror.
All wheels are of a cast metal type - solid one piece metal hubs with 16 spoke pattern, each with a separate black "rubber" tyre, mounted on steel axles. The rear axle carries a cam that operates the lights as the model is pushed along.
The base plate is metallic blue metal and is actually the lower body casting. To the centre top it reads "Dinky Toys, Meccano Ltd, Made in England", on three lines, and "Patent Number 891681, Prov Pat No 20234/66 Sales No 157" in tiny text just below the centrally located battery compartment. To the bottom centre is "BMW, 2000 TILUX" on two lines. The base also carries a rudimentary design showing the proper orientation of the battery, just to the front of the battery compartment. It is fixed by two small self tapping screws, one to the front and one to the rear.
This model was issued between 1968 and 1973.
