This model is the Dinky 117-G-1 Four Berth Caravan with Dark Cream upper and Light Blue lower colours. This was a modification of the #188 casting to allow for a full length roof window.
At the front there is a chrome tow hook and a small grey plastic wheel. Above this is the front window of the caravan. The sides have cast imprints of the body trim separating the upper and lower body, a small cast air vent grille, two side windows, and the plastic rear left side door (reproduction in white plastic). To the rear are the rear windows and four red tail lights. The raised roof area sports a full length roof window, through which the interior detail can be viewed.
The interior is a pale tan or very dark cream plastic with seating, cupboards and dining table all visible. The glazing all round, including the roof hatch, is clear.
All wheels have one piece spun hubs with a black "rubber" tyre, fitted to steel axles.
The base plate is black painted metal and is marked with "DINKY TOYS" at the front top. Below this is"Four Berth Caravan" and "Made in England, Meccano Ltd" on two lines at the bottom. There is no model reference number and the base is imprinted to the rear bottom, forward of the axle, with "Prov. Pat. Nos, 1026/59 1165/59". The base plate is held in place with three machined rivets, two to the front and one to the rear.
