This model is the Dinky 60y-G-1 Thompson Fuel Tender in Red Shell Aviation Service livery.
The model features no opening parts, all features are cast into the body casting. At the front the headlight lens is picked out in silver and the front mounted spotlight is red with silver lens. The sides show cast body lines and the yellow "Shell Aviation Service" decals are on raised rectangular panels. to the rear side are black wheel arches. On the rear, a cast door and hinges is represented. There is no interior as such, only a cast driver and steering wheel in maroon. There is no glazing on this model.
All wheels are of the solid, white rubber type - solid one piece rubber on a steel "crimped" axle.
The base plate of this model is held in place by the front wheel housing and the rear the axle. It carries the legend Dinky Toys at the centre top and "Made in England by Meccano Ltd." on two lines at the centre bottom. It carries no other markings and is otherwise a plain, flat maroon base.
This item was issued between 1938 and 1940 and was sold in trade boxes and not individually packaged.
