This model is the Dinky 38e/104 Armstrong Siddeley in Green with black hubs and dark brown interior. This is a restored/repainted item.
The model features no opening parts, all features are cast into the body casting. At the front we have the headlights, grille, number plate, and bumper picked out in silver, small radiator cap/hood ornament, and cast lines representing the bonnet outline. To the sides the running boards are cast but the doors are not. At the rear there is a cast representation of the boot lid, handle, number plate, and petrol cap. The interior is painted dark brown and has a black metal steering wheel on a plain dashboard, cast front and rear seats, and a simple folded roof tonneau. The glazing on this model is a simple clear plastic unit that passes into a slot behind the bonnet area.
All wheels are of the shaped cast metal type - solid one piece cast metal hubs, painted black, with a separate black "rubber" tyre, fitted on steel domed axles.
The base plate of this model is black painted tinplate with small lettering that reads Dinky Toys at the top centre, "Armstrong Siddeley" in the middle centre and "Meccano Ltd Made in England" at the bottom centre. It is now held in place by two silver blobs of solder(?).
This casting was used between 1946 and 1948.
