This model is the Dinky 34a-G-1 Royal Airmail Service Car in blue. This is a restored item, lacking the necessary decals. Footage of the real vehicle can be viewed HERE and HERE.
The model features an accurate cast body representing the Morris Commercial with Duple built body work. At the front there is a silver radiator grille, headlights, and bumper. The sides show side bonnet louvres and cast doors with handles. Cast into the top is the distinctive "fin" running from the top of the front windscreen to the bottom rear of the body work.
There is no base plate but the underside of the casting is marked with "Meccano, Dinky Toys" on two lines, followed by "Made, In, England", in smaller lettering on three lines, under the roof area of the model.
All wheels are of the early smooth cast metal variety, each having a black rubber tyre. The steel axles appear crimped on all four ends.
This model was issued for only a very short time between 1935 and 1940. I also have a stamp issued by the Republic Du Burundi commemorating the vehicle (see below).
