This model is the Dinky 30f-G-4 Ambulance in Cream and black.

The model features no opening parts, all features are cast into the body casting. At the front the headlights, grille and bumper are a separate cast metal component, identical to that used on the 36b Bentley. The sides show cast engine cover louvres, body lines and doors, a cast cross in circle (painted red), and the rear window shapes (not open). The rear has cast doors and handles and the rear windows are also filled in. At the bottom of the rear body is a shape that might be meant to represent a step. There is no interior or glazing on this model. The front and rear wheel arches, and running boards are details molded into the base plate of the model.

All wheels are of the shaped cast metal type - solid one piece cast metal hubs with a separate black "rubber" tyre on a steel crimped axle.

The base plate of this model is held in place by the axles which pass through holes cast in the body and base to secure the two together. It carries the legend Dinky Toys at the centre top (under the left side running board) and "Made in England by Meccano Ltd." on two lines at the centre bottom (under the right side running board). It also carries a representation of the engine sump, gearbox, drive shaft and rear differential.

This item was issued between 1947 and 1948, evidenced by the solid chassis and closed rear window opening. Earlier version had open rear windows and the earliest had an open style chassis. The ambulances were sold in trade boxes and not individually packaged.
