This model is the Dinky 25a-G-4 Flat Wagon (Truck) in Green and black.

The model features no opening parts, all features are cast into the body casting. At the front the headlights and grille are a separate cast metal component. The sides show cast engine cover louvres, body lines and doors, and the rear deck is cast to represent the wooden sides and deck floor. At the rear there is a cast two hook and the tailgate carries a British sign indicating the vehicle can travel at a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour. There is no interior or glazing on this model and the cab windows remain open. The front and rear wheel arches, chassis and running boards are details molded into the type 3 base plate of the model.

All wheels are of the shaped cast metal type - solid one piece cast metal hubs with a separate black "rubber" tyre on a steel crimped axle.

The base plate of this model is held in place by the axles which pass through holes cast into thin columns on the body to secure the two together. It carries the legend Dinky Toys at right angles across the base just behind the cab, "Made in England" on one line just forward of the latter, "Meccano Ltd" along the right hand chassis side just in front of the rear axle, and "Liverpool" below this by the right hand chassis side. It also carries a representation of the chassis cross members below the cab and at the rear by the tow hook.

This item was issued between 1946 and 1947, evidenced by the solid chassis with single round hole. Earlier versions had an open chassis and the later versions had a closed chassis with cast in drive train and bumper. The trucks were sold in trade boxes and not individually packaged.
