This model is the Corgi Classics Series D983/4 Morris J van in Black in the livery of the Metropolitan Police. This model was produced as a general release world-wide.

This model represents a typical Police service vehicle and as such is simply adorned with "22" in white above each of the black front wheel arches, "30" in white above each of the black rear wheel arches (the front and rear tyre pressures respectively, in pounds per square inch) and the "Metropolitan Police Crest" in silver on the rear van upper body. There are no opening parts on this model.

At the front is the numberplate [GIP 49] and black with silver surround radiator grill. There is no front bumper on this vehicle. To the side of the grill, mounted onto the front wheel guards, are two clear lenses set into a black plastic(?) headlight below which is a white painted dot that represents the front parking lights. At the rear the lights are represented by painted dots in red and orange, below the rear doors. All door handles, side trafficators, petrol cap and rear door hinges are highlighted in silver.

The entire interior is black plastic with a right hand drive black plastic steering wheel. The glazing is clear (with molded wipers) on a split front windscreen, side door windows and rear door windows.

All wheels have simulated chromed hubs - solid, one piece chromed plastic hubs with a silver hub cap center and with separate black "rubber" tyres.

The base plate is black painted metal and is marked "CORGI" in the centre top and "Morris J Type" at the centre bottom, followed by "Made in CHINA" just behind the rear axle. The baseplate casting also has cast drive shaft and exhaust system. It is held in place with a single rear, machined rivet and a single front body locating lug.

This model was issued in September 1990.
