This model is the Corgi C1128-a-1 Mercedes BenzTipper Truck in Yellow with black chassis and red tipper. The vehicle carries "BLOCK " in white next to an orange/red brick wall image on both sides of the tipper bed.
The model has no opening parts other than the tipping tray and rear tailgate. The main truck casting is in two pieces — the cab and the truck chassis, with the tipper tray a separate plastic casting. Under the rear tray is a "working" hydraulic system for tipping.
At the front the headlights are part of the bumper cast into the baseplate with lights represented by two chromed plastic inserts. The numberplate is cast into the "bumper" but is otherwise not highlighted. Above the bumper is a black plastic grille, complete with Mercedes symbol in chrome, set into the cab casting. Cab doors and front panels are also cast into the cab casting. The chassis is a very simple casting with only the front bumper and mudguards.
The cab interior is red plastic with a left hand drive, black plastic steering wheel set into the dashboard (instrument panel). The cab glazing is clear without the usual representation of windscreen wipers.
The red tipper casting is a simple representation of a tipper bed with separate unpainted metal rear tailgate. Each side carries the previously described signage on raised side panels.
All wheels are of the "speed wheel" type - hollow one piece plastic with a "chromed" commercial type "hub" in the center.
The baseplate is basically the chassis casting, made of black painted metal and marked at the centre top with corgi and at the centre bottom in tiny letters, "Made in GT Britain". No other markings are present on the casting. It is held in place with a single, machined, cab rivet and the tipper tray is attached to the chassis by means of a metal pin and two arms on the tipper tray.
This model was issued circa April 1984. Its scale was said to be 1:50.
