This model is the Corgi 298 A-1 Ferrari 308 GTS — "Magnum" in red. It is meant to represent the vehicle used in the "Magnum PI" TV series.
This model has pop up headlights painted in silver. The front has a black plastic insert to represent the top of the bumper with the baseplate shaped as the lower bumper. The rear bumper assembly is also black plastic with the rear indicator lights represented orange paint.
The entire interior is black plastic except for the seats which are tan plastic and a LEFT hand drive black plastic steering wheel. The glazing is clear with molded windscreen wipers and interior mirror.
All wheels are of the "speed wheel" type - hollow one piece plastic with a "chromed" center "hub".
The base plate is black plastic and is marked with "Made in GT Britain" in front of the front axle and "corgi" in the centre top and "Ferrari 308 GTS" at the centre bottom. It is also formed to represent the front suspension, exhaust, rear suspension and wheel well, held in place with two rivets.
This model was issued in 1982.
