This model is the Corgi GS24-A-1 Commer 3/4 ton Van in red from the Constructor Set. This model is the "transolite" version where, by shining a light into the top roof "window", the headlights light up.
There are no opening parts on this model and the rear is fixed to the chassis by means of a small screw which, when loosened, allows the rear of the vehicle to be changed. This model is also listed in "The Unauthorized Encylopedia of Corgi Toys" (author Bill Manzke, published by Schiffer Publishing Ltd) as a variation of the 462-A (variation 3) issued around 1963-69.
The interior is a thin yellow plastic vacform insert with a right hand drive black plastic steering wheel. The glazing is blue tinted.
All wheels are of the "shaped wheel" type - metal turned shaped hubs with one piece black tyres.
The base plate is grey painted metal and is marked with "Made in GT Britain" under "Patent Application 21101/59" in the lower centre, Corgi Toys in the upper centre. It is held in place with two front bumper lugs and a single rear rivet.
This GS24 set was issued between August 1963 and the end of 1968.
