This model is the Corgi C554-01 Mercedes 207D Van in Yellow and White PTT livery, produced for the Swiss market in 1986.
The entire body of the van has been painted yellow on its lower half and white on the upper half and roof. A tampo printed red and black line separate the upper and lower sections on the van sides and each front door has the former state owned Swiss Post PTT logo.
This model has no opening parts other than the two rear doors and one passenger (right hand) side parcel door. The front headlights are silver set into a black plastic component that represents the van grill and headlight area. The front bumper and numberplate are actually part of the baseplate. The rear has cast impressions to represent the rear lights and number plate with the lights highlighted with an alternative red colour.
The entire interior is black plastic with the steering wheel being part of the interior casting. The glazing is clear and is applied to the front doors and windscreen only. The rear doors are unglazed.
All wheels are of the "speed wheel" type - hollow one piece plastic with a chrome, star shaped center "hub".
The base plate is black plastic and is marked with "CORGI" in the centre top, "Mercedes-Benz 207D" in the middle just below the driveshaft, and "Made in GT Britain" at the centre bottom. The baseplate carries simple moulded representations of the suspension, gearbox, driveshaft and differential, and exhaust system. It is held in place with four machined rivets.
This model was issued in August 1986. Its scale was stated to be 1/43.
