This model is the Corgi Classics Series 96840 Morris 1000 van in Almond Green in the livery of the Bristol Water Works. This model was produced as a general release world-wide.
This model represents a typical Works' vehicle and as such is adorned with B.W.W. logos in gold on the side doors, "24" in gold above each of the front wheel arches, "28" in gold above each of the rear wheel arches (the front and rear tyre pressures respectively, in pounds per square inch) and "WATER SUPPLY" in gold on the rear van upper body. There are no opening parts on this model, it has a fixed bonnet, front doors, and rear doors. The latter are adorned with yellow and black "hazard" stripes.
At the front it appears as if the front bumper, numberplate [43MHY] and grill are cast on a separate component that fits into the body casting and is held in place by the front rivet. The bumper and numberplate are painted green to match the body work, the grill consists of a black plastic insert and two chromed surrounds. To the side of the grill, inset into the front wheel guards, are two clear lenses set into a chromed plastic component that represents the front lights. At the rear the rights are represented by painted dots in red and orange.
The entire interior is black plastic with a right hand drive black plastic steering wheel. The glazing is clear (with molded wipers) on a single front windscreen, side door windows and rear door windows.
All wheels have simulated silver hub caps - solid, one piece black plastic hubs with a silver hub cap center and with separate black "rubber" tyres.
The base plate is black painted metal and is marked "CORGI" in the centre top and "Morris 1000" followed by "Made in CHINA" on two lines at the centre bottom. The baseplate casting also has cast drive shaft and exhaust system. It is held in place with a single front, machined rivet and a single rear body locating lug.
This model was issued in July 1991.
