This model is the Corgi 487-A-2 Landrover in red and blue Chipperfields Circus Parade livery. This is the later version without the tow hook. It is missing the chimps and the clown is missing a hand.
The vehicle has no opening parts. The exterior has a silver painted front bumper that is moulded as part of the body, and mask sprayed grille and headlights. The front bonnet has a decal (black on yellow) reading "The Circus Is Here". The rear deck and upper of the vehicle is molded from blue plastic and comprises front facing speakers, rear sides, and rear deck. The clown (dark brown trousers and yellow jacket) is fitted to a pin(?) so he can be turned.
The interior is yellow plastic with a right hand drive, light grey plastic steering wheel inserted into the dashboard (instrument panel). The glazing is clear all round the cab.
All wheels are of the spun type - one piece polished spun metal hubs with a "rubber" tyre, fitted to steel axles.
The base plate is grey painted metal and is marked with "Land Rover 109" W.B." on two lines at the centre top, Corgi Toys at the centre middle, and "Patent Application 21101/59, Made in Gt. Britain" on two lines at the bottom centre It is held in place with two machined rivets, one at the front and one rear.
This model was issued in September 1965 and over 304,000 were sold. It was withdrawn in 1969 and had a stated scale of 1:47.
