This model is the Corgi 482-A-1 Chevrolet Impala Fire Chief Car in red and white.
There are no opening parts on this model. The front lights, grille, numberplate, and bumper are formed from a separate chromed plastic component that fits between the upper body casting and the lower body/base casting. It also forms the chrome side trim, rear bumpers, and rear lights, with the rear lights also being coated with red paint. This version has the decal on the front bonnet, and it retains part of the rear grey plastic aerial.
The interior is a yellow plastic vac-form with a left hand drive silver plastic steering wheel and two blue clad figures in the front seat. The glazing is clear all round.
All wheels are of the shaped type - solid one piece spun metal hubs with a separate black "rubber" tyre, fitted to steel axles.
The base plate, which also incorporates the lower body, is white painted metal and is marked with "Chevrolet, Impala" at the centre top on two lines, CORGI TOYS in the centre middle on a single lines, and "Patent Application 24751/63, Made in Gt. Britain" in tiny text on two lines, at the centre bottom. The base plate is held in place with two machined rivets.
This model was issued between December 1965 and 1969 and over 429,000 were sold. The scale is not stated in Van Cleemput's book, but is thought to be 1:50.
