Corgi 392-A Bertone Shake Buggy

This model is the Corgi 392-A-2 Bertone Shake Buggy in Yellow. This model has a stylized Italian flag with stylized "b" in the centre of the white stripe on the bonnet with red and white striping either side of the vehicle just below the access points and 5 pointed stars cast into the body at the centre front and centre rear.

It has no opening parts. The exterior boasts front and rear steel frame protectors, a rollbar sporting lights and horns, grab frames next to the seats and a gold plated engine at the rear.

The interior is green plastic with a left hand drive, unpainted cast metal steering wheel and dashboard (instrument panel). The front glazing is amber.

All wheels are of the "speed wheel" type - hollow one piece plastic with a "chromed" patterned "hub"in the center.

The base plate is white painted metal and is marked in the centre with "Made in GT Britain" on line one, CORGI TOYS on the second line, "Whizzwheels" in the centre (3rd) line, "Bertone Shake Buggy" on the fourth line, "PAT.APP.No.3396/69" on the fifth line, at the bottom centre and, finally, "MAZAK" die-cast just behind the rear axle. The base is also molded to represent basic steering linkages and rear drive train. It is held in place with two rivets.

This model was issued between July 1972 and 1976 and 319,000 were sold. Its scale was said to be 1:40.
