This model is the Corgi 386-A-1 Bertone Runabout Barchetta in Yellow. This model has black stripes around the centre body and in the middle of the bonnet that are formed from the black plastic interior casting. On each side stripe is a paper label with the word "runabout"' in white text on a red background.
It has no opening parts. The exterior boasts front lights in orange and rear lights made of plastic crystal lenses, and a body roll-bar sporting inset orange lights. At the rear there is a black plastic engine cover, probably also part of the interior casting.
The interior is black plastic with a left hand drive, unpainted cast metal steering wheel set into the dashboard (instrument panel). The front glazing is amber.
All wheels are of the "speed wheel" type - hollow one piece plastic with a "chromed" patterned "hub"in the center.
The base plate is yellow painted metal and is marked in the centre with "Made in GT Britain" on line one, CORGI TOYS on the second line, "Whizzwheels" in the centre (3rd) line, "Bertone Runabout Barchetta" on the fourth line and fifth lines, "PAT.APP.No.3396/69" at the front just before the axle and, finally, "MAZAK" die-cast just behind the rear axle on the left hand side. The base has no other molded detail apart from the floor pan. It is held in place with two machined rivets.
This model was issued between March 1971 and 1973 and 321,000 were sold. Its scale was unstated but thought to be around 1:40.
