This model is the Corgi 1003-A-1-a Ford Torino with working Air Horn - also known as the Ford Road Hog in black. This model was released as a Corgitronics Ford Road Hog with working horn activated by pushing the toy down. It was packed in a standard Corgitronics box of the period. The model uses the Corgi 292-A casting.

The model has no opening parts other than the battery compartment. The front has a gold tinted chrome panel representing the grill and lights which is actually a single plastic casting that becomes the grill, headlights, front bumper, side chrome strips, rear bumper AND the glazing!. All other features are cast into the body casting and painted black except the rear tail lights which are red and two yellow plastic aerials that protrude from the rear wings by the boot. The model is enhanced by the application of decals, in silver and gold representing "hot rod" style images of eagles and twisted spirals, on the bonnet and both sides.

There is no interior as such as the previously mentioned gold tinted chrome insert obscures the interior which is designed to hold a standard 9v battery and its associated fittings. The glazing is also represented by this insert which is opaque so that the interior cannot be seen.

All wheels are single piece units with a central chrome 4 spoke hub and a black tyre.

The base plate is black plastic metal and is marked with "Corgitronics" at the top of the battery compartment lid and "Ford Torino" at the bottom and a tiny Made in Gt. Britain at the rear, behind the rear axle housing. It is held in place with six machined rivets.

This model was issued in August 1981.
