This model is the Benbros State Coach and Horses in silver with hand painted horses and riders in black, red, white, and brown.
The model of the coach has a two-piece, cast metal body, 40mm in length, 25mm high and 17mm wide. At the front is a silver plated draw-bar hole for attaching the horses and the two figurines are cast immediately behind this hole. The coach body has ER cast on both doors and is devoid of any interior. The rear carries the two other figurines, cast over the rear axle. All eight horses, four riders and the draw-bar are cast in a single unit. Each white horse has a red and brown painted cover and the left side horses have white riders with painted black helmets and boots. On the upper side of the draw-bar is cast the legend "Made in England". The model is 115mm long when the horses are attached to the coach.
The model is fitted with silver plated metal wheels fitted to steel axles that are held in place by passing through the two parts of the coach body. The flat head axles are crimped on one side.
There is no "base" to the model, the underside of the body is simply part of the coach body and is unmarked.
This item was first issued in 1953 for the Queen's Coronation.
